The colors that make ME

Often wonder why I have two favorite colors:

Pink and Purple,

Trying to decide which I love most!

I appreciate all the colors of the rainbow,

But those two have me torn;

Pink represents every thing girly

Purple signifies royalty and wealth

I can mix and match

Or simply intertwine them.

Then I think about the color blue,

It sometimes makes me sad,

As those forever Monday blues gets me every time!

The importance of the color blue means more;

With blue I am able to honor my Mother:

The woman who birth me.

Almost 11 years ago she lost her battle with Colon Cancer,

My love for blue has grown fonder,

Especially during the month of March,

As I wear blue in remembrance of her;

Just the thought has me in my feels

And gives me chills

Yet still I got a jones for blue!

How can I forget the color:

The color black;

It is more than a color to me,

It has rich history and lessons,

It is sometimes associated with death;

I wear black so much people think I’m mourning

When in actuality I’m celebrating,

How a color makes up ME!
