I’m a disordered rainbow

One that’s easy to play with -

Smudge one color into the next

And they all blend recklessly

Leaving what’s left of me

Unclear.

Except,

When you bleed my reds into the blues

You won’t make purple.

I’ll be red today

Maybe blue tomorrow

Possibly both the next

But never purple.

My mind likes to twist and turn

As blue trickles down my spine

And red climbs from within.

But all I’ll ever want to be

Is purple.

Like everyone else.

But I’m not.

I can’t be.

I’m sometimes red

Other times blue

Occasionally both

And always Bipolar.
