Lilac seeps into the deep of the night

A soft orange creeps across the rippling surface of the lake

The faint pink light irradiates the feathers of a snowy egret

Preening its pure white feathers in preparation for the day

Waterdrops on the gator's scales are emerald sparkles

Clouds in the sky begin to evaporate away as the beams of light hit them

Blues and reds and browns flit about as the birds begin their day

Dew shimmers on the grass and moistens the ground

The fiery colors of the sun hint at the midday heat

But the cool colors of the night still prevail for now
