The Color of Your Eyes

Phoenix Rising Poem Spoken Word

Oh, the color of your eyes

Much more then all your spies

I’m not one of the guys

Can’t take anymore of your lies

Aren’t we all the same in uniqueness

Even in the aspect of fitness

Brown, hazel, blue to name a few

We all have a different hue

Yet, we all can be evil, too

Even those sitting on a church pew

Truth is hidden in the eye of the beholder

But the pain of tomorrow makes me bolder

Were all the same deep inside

We all have choice to hide

We all eventually chose a side

In the end we know we tried.

Look into the colorful eyes

Someone can be lord of the flies

Even the holy robes standing in the pulpit

Sheep’s clothing; nothing but a bandit

They hate on the gays and the outcasts

Yet, pig out at buffets instead of fasts

Hypocrisy, gluttony is just as bad as any sin

Yet, you stand there and judge with a grin

Dust off your dirty robes and filth within

Maybe then the prize you can win

Dirty vessel filled with hate and lies

Ignoring the broken and all their cries

You tare color from the world with hate

Don’t worry it’s already to late

The army is rising into a revolution

Watch the phoenix fly into retribution

Yah coming now to rise all the misfits

Freedom now coming out of the pits
