The Color of Stories

As I allow the pen to hit my Moleskine notebook

The colors all come swarming to me at once as the blue ink spills from my imagination

The ink creates stories of colors in my mind

Stories that have to be written, stories that each have to be told

Stories of blue skies that stretch beyond vision

Skies where the orange and red wings of a phoenix

waivers like a ribbon of perseverance to the onlookers below

I can see a mother staring deeply into the brown eyes of her newborn baby

As she promises him the World

Brightness from the sun fill my pages as

Two young girls head to college riding in a blue sedan

Both filled with dreams that make them feel bubble gum pink

Stories of travel fill my page with gray haze

As friends repeatedly meet through time

Two strangers exchange a smile over a piece of

Rainbow colored cake excited about the possibilities of love

I am able to create Worlds full of wonder

As I allow my pen to hit my Moleskine notebook

The colors all come swarming to me at once as the blue ink spills from my imagination

The ink creates stories of colors in my mind

Stories that have to be written, stories that each have to be told
