The Cock Flew Over the Garden Wall no 2

The cock flew over the garden wall

To have a look at the hens

My mother came out

She gave a big shout

You buggers are at it again

She chased them round the cabbage patch

And scattered the beans and peas

The dog sat still, enjoying the thrill

While wagging his tail with ease

The postman stopped to watch the show

And nearly dropped his bag

He laughed so hard at our backyard

He wiped his eyes with a rag

The cock then perched on the old fence post

And gave a victorious crow

The hens all sighed, but ran to hide

Before he could have another go

I love how you expanded it into a whole little scene.
