The Climb

We'll do this together

your hand in my hand

feeling light as a feather

trying to see the land

We climb so high

till we enter the sky

on top of the mountain

walking through clouds

We both have our doubts

but I lost you up there

and without you, I cannot bear

We were going together

until you hit the weather

struck there motionless

stuck there notionless

you stopped

I never did

Since I've become gray

everything's been just okay

no joy and not a ploy

I don't know what you've weathered

since we've been together

but my goal is to climb down

to get on the ground level

For everything I've lost

I'm just glad

for the maiden's love I've found

even if it is just a tad

I'll love you more than anything from the ground up

for me as a person is difficult to round up
