The Chasm
An Inspirational Poem
Prologue
Revenge and reconciliation are odd bedfellows. Hurt makes us want to retaliate. And sadly, we often do. Itβs difficult not to.
Revenge severs and hurts. But there is still hope for the chasm to close.
Enjoy this sonnet that brings the dark to the light.

As winter grips, when shadows sway and dance,
A figure looms, its heart a tangled web,
Unspoken memories of words in trance,
Each chilly breath a plea for warmth instead.
ππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
Flickering firefiles, spectres of joy lost,
As timeβs cruel axe has chopped a chasm deep.
Yet in the cold, delicate light shows gloss,
A flash of warmth beneath the ridges steep.
ππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
Dinner set, not for a dour feast
But for a meet, for minds to mend and bend,
With every movement, yearning to appease,
Pavement of trust where brokenness will end.
ππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
So Let new warmth embrace the dark of night,
For in the cold, new morn awaits the light.
