The Broken Speak

Pain Remains

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

Over and over again, I try

Each and every time, inside I die

Expected to keep you here

But the pain heightens when you are near

The sweetness of dreams I never taste

Nightmares always star you

To wake I try to make haste

But when I awake, in the shadows I remain

Life you gave, love was expected

Love was denied, life was neglected

We were blamed

Though the path followed, you led

When we became lost, you failed to guide

You failed, and left life that died

All that remained

An empty shell

Living and breathing

Cold and lost

Cursed to be forever broken
