The Bridge of Forgiveness

This poem belongs to Chapter 1: Soul Awakening Here I share one of my deepest truths about forgiveness: it’s not about the other — it’s about setting yourself free.

By Liora Vogel Published 7 months ago 1 min read

Forgiveness isn’t forgetting —

it’s remembering without pain.

It’s choosing love

when the ego screams for revenge.

It’s healing the wound

without needing to strike back.

Forgiveness isn’t for the other.

It’s a secret act

that begins in you.

It’s a bridge

only a brave soul can cross.

Because forgiving is hard.

Because it hurts at first.

Because the ego —

that noisy echo we are not —

will do everything it can to stop you.

The ego will say you’re losing,

when in truth,

you are winning.

You are winning freedom,

peace, and light.

Forgiveness

is the purest form of love —

it’s God’s alchemy

repeating itself in us.

There is no greater act of power

than looking at pain and saying:

“I release you.”

And when you do,

you don’t just set them free —

you free yourself:

from your demons,

from your inner prisons,

from the shadows

that no longer define you.

Forgiving isn’t giving up —

it’s awakening.

It’s choosing

to no longer carry

what was never meant

to be yours.
