The Bridge Near Memory Lane

Nostalgia heavy

By Izra RudolfoPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I tread in the rain

Amongst grainy terrain

I'm passing the fork

Brought forth to the bridge

Betwixt love and despair

Dreams that I don't care for anymore

I step towards the bridge

Three away from a fatal edge

Fragile is the human

Brawn is the spirit

The spirit is the pillar which holds the bridge

I overlook a glistening river

Moonlight ripples as my pebble bounces three times

The moonlit river is a reflection of me

Ever changing and ever flowing

Hesitation is a dam near by

Perseverance is chi

Goodbye to you

Three cheers for me

Hurry up the hurray

Death of my former self

The shell of my past sinks

As much as I used to complain

Tender memories is all that remains

Nostalgia constant in my dreams

Understanding that this very moment will be on display

As a billboard or a monument one day

On the bridge near Memory Lane
