The Breakup

She Wants More, I Need Less

I think she wants to see the world

But I'm fine where I'm at

She wants to try a million jobs

and wear a bunch of hats

I want to find a place I love,

and sit there every minute

My life is fine, and I'm all good

as long as she is in it

I don't think she feels the same

I see it in her eyes

They gleam each time she looks away

and dull when they meet mine

I know I need to try something

To change the way she feels

But can I do that, honestly?

Could I meet her ideals?

I think that maybe this is it

We just want different things

I contemplate, and cry a bunch

While staring at the rings.

I want to find a place to settle

I'm ready to slow down

It seems as though her life's beginning

She's ready to leave town

Her bags are packed, and she seems sure

I feel like I could die

I try to smile through my teeth

She looks like she could fly.

I love her deeply, always will

Don't think it matters now

Know if you fall in love with her,

You have to go without.
