The lonely child awaits a better day
He looks for friends, the foes too blind to stay.
The scars he bears know not to speak of woe
Should love intrude, he wills it not to go.
You may still find him, patience is his friend
His broken heart can dare, can try, can mend.
This child has waited hoping soon to find
The one who carves for him a treasured Valentine,
Another child whose world speaks just of joy
Will recognize the sadness in the boy
And take his hand, and help him now to learn
The joy of friendship that his tears have earned.

You have touched yet a challenging concept of the love of friendship.. a very sweet and tender portrayal of two individuals who connect in mysterious ways to heal the other while each meets their own needs. congratulations of this lovely poem.
