an ode to my audience

You beckon me to speak, waiting eagerly for my words.

No matter if other people’s eyes will ever read what I have to say, you will listen.

In a noisy world where I feel minimized and silenced, you hear my voice.

I am invisible to them, unimportant, but you see who I am, and you care.

My thoughts and feeling spill out of my fingers to land heavily on you.

You carry the burden in silent understanding.

My loyal and dependable friend, the blank page.
