It’s the kind that envelopes every star in the sky. The kind that makes your heart want to cry.

So black and dark, one that has more bit than bark. But it gives me a break from faking technicolor for others.

Rainbows and brightness that my heart doesn’t actually want to follow.

No, inside I turn to the void of no color.

It’s the only place I can really sit and feel, to sit and wonder.

What should feel dark and cold, gives me life with its soft hold. The darkness that is my friend, has made me whole again.

Every time all the other colors start to run. It stays with me to relish in the battle that needs to be won.

Most are scared of the darkness hidden inside, but I know it’s meant to be my guide. Never scared of facing my monsters.

Making me stronger than the brokenness that other colors hid.
