The Birth of Venus

A blank sonnet

The surface of sea-foamed salinity

were lines filled with ocean-water and sky

for coalescence into a tidal force

smelling not of mermaid but of seashells.

Formed from a vapor of blood and seed

that had burst from the cosmic castration--

Mother of Love and the Latin bloodline:

Venus the evening star born to the world

\

Piercing the heart like a star deep in space

Flotsam and jetsam for primordial soup

out of the salinity of this solid

femininity reigns supreme unshelled

by binding power of cohesion: links

dot to dot the white of stardust to the waves.
