The Bird and the Sky
The bird looks up at the sky,
So blue and vast and high.
He wants to fly up there,
To see what he can spy.
He spreads his wings and takes off,
Up, up, and away he goes.
He flies higher and higher,
Until he can touch the snow.
He flies past the clouds,
And sees the stars up above.
He feels so free and happy,
He could fly forever and ever.
But then he starts to get tired,
And his wings start to ache.
He knows he has to leave,
But he doesn't want to.
He looks down at the earth,
So small and far away.
He takes a deep breath,
And starts to fly back down.
He lands safely on the ground,
And looks up at the sky.
He knows he will never forget
His journey to the stars.
He dreams of flying again,
Of soaring through the clouds,
Of touching the stars.
He knows that one day,
He will fly again.
