The Berry Bush Brouhaha

Z4

By James GreenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Once upon a time in a forest green,

Lived a flock of birds that couldn't be seen,

In a bush that grew berries bright and red,

The birds found their happiness, they were fed.

But one day an idea did sprout,

To seek out more, and venture out,

They chirped and sang a different tune,

Of a world beyond, that they'd soon imbibe soon

The bush that once was home and cheer,

Now stood alone, with nothing to hear,

The birds who left in search of more,

Found nothing but illusions and sore

They flew through skies that weren't so blue,

And faced strange creatures, out of the few,

But the bush they missed, still couldn't find,

And their longing grew, their hopes declined.

The flock who stayed behind did cry,

For their friends who left, had learned to lie.

They realized that true happiness,

Was in simplicity, and not in excess

But it was too late, and in the end,

The wandering birds, returned to their friend.

The moral of the story is clear,

True happiness is always here.
