The Beginning of the End

Submission

By Randy DannenfelserPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Softly, the air hangs heavy in the room,

In the eye's fading light, shadows deepen,

Lips murmur soundless prayers, for release from pain,

Each breath lessens, fragile but precious,

Numb, the body rests, the battle done,

Calm descends, as life's thread spins away,

Endings echoed, in the final embrace of a loved one.
