The Beast

Old coffee reading I had done on myself

Anger, it's a Beast

That eats me alive,

inside and out

Boiling and raging, can barely control

It seeks to exit and enter

Out of every orifice within my being

Uncontrollable, but controlled

The Beast is roaring, and I see it

Feel it.

Hear it.

Confusion, anxiety

Stress, everything around me

It's only fuel for its continuing rage

Looking for ways to calm the Beast

It's difficult. It's hard.

Claws of it, not wanting to let go

I ask it, "Please, tell me what is it

you need to let go?"

Glinting eyes, Beast responds

"Things, people, energies-

I wish for you to let ME go.

A Beast, you call me.

Yet, here I am. Held against my own."

"I see.. I apologize.. can you forgive me?"

The Beast wraps its arms around

Hugging. I feel it.

Forgiveness. Gratitude.

I let the Beast go..

No, I let the Past go.
