The battle field

Dear sol

Sol

To My Gallant Knight

How fiercely my heart stirs as you ride toward the field,

A warrior, unbowed, in the face of battle’s call,

I stand, a silent prayer upon my lips,
To Sol, bright god of the burning sun—

May you guard him, my love, who bends to no fear,

Sacrificing for honor, for country, for us.

Before the cheering horde, their voices sharp as steel,

I send him forth, his strength unmatched,
Yet my soul trembles—

may the sword of Damocles
Fall not upon him, but upon the invader’s crest,

That he may return to me, unscathed, unbroken.

With each distant step, my heart is his,

My protector, my knight, my love eternal.

And in this fleeting moment, when the world trembles,

I offer to the gods, my life, my devotion,
In exchange for his safe return.
