The Balancing Act

A Poetic Reminder to Myself

By Pieces of Me ~ Poems by HeidiPublished 4 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Put down the pen

Set aside your phone

Make a simpler dinner

To be present at home

The drive to get things done

Lives strongly in you now

But the moment she is older

You'll regret you didn’t put "it" down

She won’t be small forever

She won’t always fit on your lap

Enjoy this time together

It’s ok to watch her nap

There will be time to finish

All you haven’t done

But for now rest your drive

To love your little one

Pieces of Me ~ Poems by Heidi

In 2022, I came across a bin of my journals spanning many years. It was then that I realized I haven’t told people I enjoy writing or shared my work publicly. I decided to start.
