Man in the Van
Life may not be as it seems

Man in the van
How free your life must be
To wake up every morning
And be under that tree
You can walk down to the creek
Or sit in your front yard
Surrounded by your treasures
Of many parts of cars
You are one with nature
Which is envious to some
A sculpture made of branches
Is what you do for fun
Warmth from a fire
Built by your own hands
A glow from winter’s moon
Glistens off tin cans
Indoor outdoor living
Oh is it a plus
Feeling fresh cool air
Inside your mini bus
Enjoying life’s simple pleasures
Is one of your delights
Sitting in your chair
Surrounded by Bud Lights
Creative expression
Is important to you
As the letters “for sale” adorn your van
And angled slightly askew
You are an individual
Oh yes you are indeed
Living a life of freedoms
Underneath that tree

Pieces of Me ~ Poems by Heidi
In 2022, I came across a bin of my journals spanning many years. It was then that I realized I haven’t told people I enjoy writing or shared my work publicly. I decided to start.
