The Baby Cries All Night
Just one nights sleep is all I ask. Please god š

The Baby Cries All Night
The baby cries all night,
a chorus never ending.
The darkness fills with sound,
that breaks the fragile rest.
Her little voice is pleading,
her fists are small and tight.
The air is thick with sorrow,
the hours slow and long.
The baby cries all night,
and still I rock and sway.
My arms are sore with holding,
my eyes with sleepless pain.
The walls hear every whisper,
the floorboards creak with grief.
The house becomes a cradle,
that never settles down.
The baby cries all night,
a storm that will not leave.
I sing but she wonāt listen,
my lullaby is drowned.
I wonder if tomorrow,
her smile will chase the dark.
Or if the tears will linger,
to haunt another dawn.
The baby cries all night,
and I am lost in sound.
Yet still I hold her closer,
for love can bear the weight.
One day she will grow older,
and sleep without a tear.
But I will still remember,
the baby crying here.

I felt the pain in this poem, well done, my friend.
The baby knows you care so just keep doing what you are doing. You know what to do feed, change, burp and whatever else one can think of to give comfort. The baby knows.
Youāve captured both the exhaustion and the deep love in those sleepless nights. Beautifully heartfelt.
