The Armor and The Sword part 1

I. intro

This is the tale of a knight

Ever so gallant and charming

This is the tale I've longed to write

Although you might find it alarming

He is everything a knight should be

everything and more

down to his core

(But that wasn't something he could see)

He rides into the battlefield fierce and unafraid

His enemies shiver at the thought of his raid

The sight of his horse galloping towards them in the distance makes them flee

Because his strength is unlike anything you have yet to see

II. The Warrior Princess and The Knight meet (The Warrior Princess is a journal entry not yet published or made public. This picks up where it ends.)

I breathe in and out

My vocal cords too weak to shout

The smell of death so prevalent

I lie desolate

I know I'm the next one to go

As my heart starts to go slow

Too injured to walk

I start crawling through the muddy and bloody ground

Then right as I collapse

In the distance I hear a sound

A horse galloping towards me

My vision was too blurred for me to see

Is this my enemy?

Am I the prize of his victory?

Right as I start to lose consciousness

I hear his baritone voice ever so full of graciousness

*

Everyone had left the princess for dead on the battlefield. Upon seeing her attempts to crawl from a distance, he risked his life to save her and take her to the palace caregiver so she could recover. The princess wouldn't see him again for years to come. That is, until the day finally came that they'd meet again.
