The Architect

Of My Demise

Somehow the sunshine,

Makes me sadder than the rain.

The light spreads out,

Illuminating all my pain.

When the sky is grey and

The rain is falling steady

It's easier to hide

When life gets much too heavy.

But when the sun is out

All the world is bright

Everyone turns up their face

To bask in their delight.

Which makes it so much more apparent

When I am looking at the ground

Plodding on through life,

Trapped inside of all their sound.

I want to be like all of you,

Looking up to light with shaded eyes

But I'm too busy looking down

The architect of my demise
