The Aftermath

When all the dust has settled at last,

When the fires and the hurt subside

I'll be the one left standing

With my fist in the air.

In the aftermath

Of bitter war,

I alone

Do stand

Tall

sad poetry

When we break away from the heartbreak of dependent love, its amazing what we learn on our own! Thanks for this positive poem.
