A” stands for “adulting,” which thank God we both would choose
We could’ve both been hateful whereby both of us would lose
“B” is for the “bitterness” that builds resentment quick
The poison someone drinks in hopes the other one gets sick
“C” is the “commitment” that we clearly never had
About “communication” that at best, was pretty bad
“X” is for that person who was meant to be the one
A person who together God had blessed us with a son
Looking back, it’s obvious it wasn’t meant to be
I’m way beyond whose fault it was, to me that’s really key
And even if there was a chance to reconcile today
My X will stay my X because we’re better off this way
Regardless of our history I’ll never wish ill will
It’s better for all three of us we’ve kept things pretty chill
The things that once were awkward I am learning to ignore
The few that I cannot just means I need to work on more
It wasn’t always easy, I’m amazed we’re better friends
I’m equally amazed at just how well our family blends
Not all broken relationships must end a zero-sum
So that’s why we two X’s are the X’s we’ve become

This ONE! SO GOOD! What an incredible lesson you have in here. I LOVE it! And if this is a true story, then BRAVO to the two adults in this poem– such a gift for the kiddo in the situation! WOW! Amazing work, humans! Now, to forward to a few people I know... lol!
