Rhymes and Reasons
I Love To Cook

So I’m a “chef” that loves to “cook”
Unseasoned, I won’t lie
But since no “restaurants” ever look
I seldom now apply
My “recipes,” they call for rhyme
Or else the “meal” is bland
I’ll add a pinch most every time
The best chefs understand
Sometimes it’s good, I’ve made it bad
When bad it feels I’m fighting
Depending on the day I had
The meal could get exciting
If not inspired, it’s rarely good
Some spicing may apply
That seldom turns out as it should
No rhyme or reason why
It’s sorta like that novice poet
Who writes the perfect poem
That says, “It’s done, now let’s bestow it”
But lets the critic throw ‘em
And then there comes that “connoisseur”
If you’re a chef you’ve met him
Who says your meal’s complete manure
Well THIS meal oughta get him
I’ve tried Haiku and Free verse too
(For “vegans” sorta speak)
I’ll leave that to the chefs that do
My rhymes make mine unique
If vegans feel hostility
I just explain the drill
When you request my specialty
I’m firing up the grill
