I was young, I was fun,

You met me that way.

I was happy I was hopeful

You met me that way.

I worked hard, built our home

We were together that way.

I had babies and cooked

We were together that way.

You lied, you cheated

You broke me that way.

You were hurtful and cruel

You broke me that way.

I grew up, I fought on

I made me that way

I am strong and resilient

I made me that way.

They are confident, they are brave

I raised them that way.

Know their worth, know they're loved

I raised them that way.

You make excuses, twist words

They see it that way.

Backtrack plans, put them last

They see it that way.

They won't talk, won't make plans

You'll make it that way.

Won't involve or include

You'll make it that way.

They'll be capable, they'll be grown

You'll see from away.

Have lives, have families of own

You'll see from away.

I'll be involved, I'll be there

I will make it that way.

They are important, they are mine

I chose it that way.
