That Constant Beat
Signals more than you realise
She is the very definition of strength
A solitary creature steering clear of pain,
The vile and corrupt toxins now diluted
Undercover, hidden, flirtatious for gain.

Trust, an unrealistic ideology
Be wary, be safe, cautious as the wind,
Fall back, take cover, listen carefully
Silently abandon hopes you’d pinned.

Remember the days of long ago
Surreal emotions flash throughout,
That throbbing ache beats in time
Beating its own drum, ergo in doubt.
***
It is expected but not reasonable
Question due diligently on cross,
Feel the answer, the honesty
Beating unnaturally at the loss.
***
Listen silently, the beat is a clue
Feel the truth bubbling from below,
Fast or slow, time speeds it up
Instinct, feelings, you’ll know.
***
Question, then question some more
Feel the knowledge on the breeze,
Again with the never ending ache
Truthfulness, hope or a simple tease.
***
Swallow the unsavoury taste of it all
The smokescreen denying all the view,
Weeks of fishing and slaughter
For all gains set to be devalued.
***
Rules are made to be broken
Snapped heartedly, not just bent,
A clue, a red flag, a subtle hint
The extra coinage now spent.
***
The light and dark of opposing sides
Flicker and light up, a cued sign,
No more tiptoes, rather heavy stomps
The shock as it weaves and aligns.
