Thank you Liz

For the time.

By Knightshade Leone Published 4 years ago 1 min read

there it was, the beginning of spring

And I was undone by the prettiest thing

Liz was her name

I didn’t know her well

I just knew that she loved me

And she knew that I cared

So we went around for a little while

Till we found out we weren’t each other’s style

So we broke up and went our separate ways

But I still remember her face from those days

I thank you Liz

For your time

For your kiss

For your hands holding me I’d miss

Your laugh

Your style

Your smile

For keeping me in bliss

Fast forward

10 years down the line I kind of miss those days

Sometimes it takes me back when I hear someone say

Those little three words I first heard from that girl

And when the sound left her mouth it ripped the roof off my world

I thought about calling her for a half dozen years

But then I finally realized it’s best left as it is

But if I saw her on the streets I’d probably shake her hand

And say I bet you didn’t know I was your biggest fan

I thank you Liz
