We Leave It Be.

We stare into each other's eyes,

We know we have a connection,

Stronger than can ever be,

Our hearts intoxicated,

With love,

With lust,

With deep feelings that we know couldn't

ever be more.

We are tempted by the apple of fate,

Lost in broken dreams,

We stand staring at each other,

Slowly distancing ourselves,

While still locked into each other's eyes,

And hearts,

We know this is forbidden love,

And although our hearts are breaking

We belong to someone else,

Someone who means the world to us;

So,

We say goodbye

Because we love our other love

Way too much,

To see their hearts broken,

We leave it be.

The somber feeling of poorly timed love makes this such a lovely piece
