A Poem On Temptation

Talks me out of self control,

Until I give in.

Entices me to what looks like gold,

Its glitters and gleam.

Magnetizes me to its color of deep yellow,

That shines so beautifully.

Persuades me to behold,

Just a look and I’m bewitched.

Turns me from the path till I’m at crossroads,

Makes me forget my dreams.

Allures me till I can’t oppose,

Compels me till I concede.

Temporary relief from sorrows,

And more to be seen.

Invites me to disguised woes,

And regrets buried down beneath.

Overshadows the truth I’ve known,

And distorts the way I think.

Never settles for a ‘no’,

Continues, till I’m all in.
