Temporary Beings

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

We fell from the stars to

Embrace earthly clay

We wear the weight of living

With our bones, flesh and pain

Within this fleeting fragile shell

We remember heaven

By living through hell

[Prechorus]

We stumble

We rise

We bleed

In our breaking

We are freed

[Chorus]

We are only temporary beings

Caught in time

Falling just to learn how to climb

The pain

The love

The in-between

Shaping us back to what we’ve always been

We are only temporary beings

[Verse 2]

Our earthly image always cracks

Our imperfections seen by all

In time, we see The truth behind

the rise after we trip and fall

Like a shadowy dance

Holding a fleeting spark

This divine flame burns deep inside our hearts

[Prechorus]

Through the chaos

Through the tears

Our Divinity reappears

[Chorus]

We are only temporary beings

Caught in time

Falling just to learn how to climb

The pain

The love

The in-between

Shaping us back to what we’ve always been

Temporary beings

We are only temporary beings
