There are things I would never say out loud.

When I begin understand these curious thoughts, I am proud.

Exploring how tellurium creates a bridge that spans a chasm

requires connecting far-fetched fact and myth, causing a curious spasm.

*

Massive stars die, making dense neutron stars that explode and form nanomaterials,

Some make Tellurium, that sends mankind important celestial signals.

Tellurium stars create coloured lines, when scientists remove Hydrogen.

These stars are associated with extinctions and likely how life did begin.

*

Celestial energy spectrographs hold the light and sound of a star.

Telluride deposits on Earth and cycles after arriving from afar.

Stress imposed by fertilizers, fossil fuels, earthquakes, meteorites

and oxygen, transforms tellurium during days and nights.

*

As a metalloid, tellurium produces elastic waves that shear and twist,

distorting in gold and silicate materials, making electric currents shift.

Tellurium is poisonous to humans. It makes makes breath smell like garlic consistently.

Tellurium also is used in solar panels and superconductors because it opposes magnetic fields with zero resistivity.

*

Dear reader we are soon to open Chapter Five

that reveals how life is associated with a tellurium hive.

My stories usually present facts, supported by science as we know it, that are often spoken of in myths. Both can help survival in an ever-changing world.
