Tear

A Rip and a Cry and a 4-Letter Word

By Gerard DiLeoPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read
A fair tear can make a tear here.

I tore off a tiny part of me

To make room for all of you

It may be a part I miss so dear

But I--full--fill that spot with you

***

I lose to gain a life, a new

Way to live with love, a skew

From what I seem to know

My holy life with you, new

***

Easy math will not add up

When sums wax and wane

To lose a part will take t'he 'art

The core won't be the same

***

I do not weep for the part I lost

To join my life with you

I rise to see over the man

Left down, to add a part of you

***

A fair tear can make a tear here

You mind your tear and seal it

And any way you say it

You wear your tear and heal it

***
