Talking To The Moon

Playing Phone Tag

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

I’m sorry that I missed you, love

I ran to the store for string

Seems the one that I used for my cup

To connect us, is missing

I’ve seen you hanging around this week

Seems you were going through a phase

I’m sorry our signals been weak

We haven’t spoken now, for days

I grabbed some glue and staples

To ensure no interference

To keep the baseline stable

Hoping you’d make an appearance

I’ll hang your end out on the branch

Of the tree outside my window

So baby, when you get a chance

To talk, please let me know

I’ll pull that string out tight

So that you can understand me

When I’m whispering goodnight

And fall asleep, listening to you breathing
