What, and who, is around me...

share passions and joys and interests, which I do not‐

I have lost mine...

Feelings of hope and peace, which I do not‐

Such feelings have almost become enemies of mine...

Thoughts and wants and wishes, which I do not‐

I dare not speak mine...

Afraid to disagree,

I will forever hold my speech‐

The public that surrounds me...

Unintentionally, shouts my differences aloud

Because I'm the only one standing out...

Without anyone speaking to it directly, I can hear everything

The mocking voice of Void's Company

The weight of such a tirade...

How much longer must I bear such a burden?...

Will come something worth being sought after?

Other than an escape from this Opera of Laughter?...

I fear the telling of these Tales of Torment have become my calling

Tell me I'm wrong, please‐

Who are these Tales really for?

Can I run away from purpose now?...

What even, am I to say to this great cloud of witnesses?

Even a "desire-less" life is a gift, right?...

I don't even believe that...

but shame on me if I disagree‐

Is there a fee for lying?...

to accompany the hurt of hiding,

which I've held for far too long...

and the tax of sugar-coating,

which I can no longer afford...

No longer can I hold my speech...

but still, I choose not to speak of my own voice,

so here, I leave an ink-stained canvas,

if I may...

I call this gift A Cursed Art

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
