tales of the garden

a memento

By adaiah ★Published 3 years ago 1 min read

our timelines aligned in the garden

she slithered over my roots, and coiled herself around me without pardon

with each of my petals opened toward the sun

i’d become a reflection of its vibrance

though content in my firmly rootedness

i admired her defiance

with her unreserved reptilian rhythm in perfect union with my steady liveliness

though surrounded by nature, our slice became the liveliest.

she continued creeping about my being

and then enclosed me without a glimpse of sun

it then registered that our beautiful story was ending no sooner than it had all begun

with each of my petals opened toward the sky

i was no stranger to a hunger for light

i’m honored to have been seen by you

and deemed fit for your appetite
