Taking back you

When you feel like you don’t fit in

don’t know where you belong

Feel like such an outcast

Been that way so long

It’s an ache that’s deep within your soul

A longing from deep inside

You wish that you could shake it

But the feeling won’t subside

You wonder where it all went wrong

Why you feel so lost

You search your life for the answer

But the wires all seem crossed

Go back to a time when things were right

When happiness flowed through your veins

When everything made sense to you

A life without the pains

Take back the you that you once were

Look it in the face

Where joy surrounded your everyday

And you knew you had a place

That belonging is still in you

It’s been there from the start

You pushed it aside long enough

But it never left your heart

Renew your life, reinvent yourself

For you and those around

Find the worth in all you do

Your place will surely be found

It’s fine to be different

It’s fine to be strange

It’s fine to be a little weird too

You really need not change for others

Or be sorry for being you

You have a place

You DO belong

You’ve known it from the start

In every smile of those you touch

You have a place in their heart

So search no more for where you fit in

You fit in EVERYWHERE

With those who really love you

And those who’ve always cared

Much love, G

Gratitude

beautiful heartfelt thoughts that say a lot about you and about those in your orbit. Let your freak flag fly. It"s so amazing when it flies high.
