You were my angel

Come in my time of great need

Arrived to heal me

*

You promised a cure

Something to save me from death

You believed it, too

*

I departed Earth

To join the world’s real angels

And let the pain go

*

You became obsessed

You could not let me leave you

Would not release me

*

You made me a doll

A spectacle of horror

For your amusement

*

I rotted away

You fixed me with glass and silk

But not my soul’s holes

*

Then my saviors came

Ripped me from your tainted grasp

And put me to rest

*

You would not let go

In death, I lay at your side

An idol of love

Author’s Note: This is based on the real story of Carl von Cosel, who kept the corpse of one of his patients in his home for years after falling in love (obsessed) with her. For more information on this case, check out von Cosel’s Wikipedia page.

Nope Nope Nope ... that's sooo creepy and chilling! But oh my goodness so well written! Capturing the horror of that situation in a strangely beautiful way. Amazing work as always! 🩷
