surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Frozen Still
In the beginning, there was hope. Now we are barely holding on to the rope. Day by day, I watch as the darkness grows. My heart breaks, yet they do not know. I could tell my heart, yet I wonder what good would that do when it is not heard from the start?

Healing Ain't Easy
“Going through a healing ain't easy. So many suppressed emotions, unwanted feelings, heavy heart, heavy breathing, fearing the anxiety will take me over. Feel like I'm going insane and off my game. I know it's a mental spirit warfare inside. Wanting to identify the troubles that still haunt me. Can't meditate it away. Wanting to just give up to my lower nature, I know I'll find the answer. Healing ain't easy I want it to hurry and pass. So many thoughts wondering what it could be; refusing to take any substance to just face it head on. If my individuality is gonna break I accept the power struggle over my fate... Healing ain't easy.”

My Greatest of Life's Gift Was to Give You Life
The best moment of my life was to see you finally arrive. Right away. I went out and bought the biggest pink bear I could find. Your mom was in great pain as she gave that last push and brought you into sight. I saw you crowning as you entered the world and into our lives. God told me that you would be a girl from the start, that is when fear crept into my heart for bringing a little girl into this world so cruel and dark.
