surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Hot Tea Is My Company
Hello, I am so glad you came to visit my bone dry cup this evening. I was growing incredibly lonely. Your reassuring presence has refreshed and enlivened me as always. Now, let's talk. How have you been? I was starting to get worried about you because I hadn't seen you in awhile. Do you have any steamy gossip to tease my nostrils? Oh, don't be shy now...do tell. Your stories are always interesting and I'm sure you'll appreciate what I have to say. I should have been a shrink with my talent of always giving timely advice to everyone I know. All the birds agree. I am quite sure of it. Either they agree, or they're making fun of me with their incessant chatter...one or the other. Take a rest on the arm of the chair and please talk to me before you have to go away again!
