Fading Pride
All she does is standwith her back towards the light. Her face buried in her handsAs she carries on her fight. Her tears could fill an ocean wideHer screams, a grandfather clock. She’s waiting as her prideFades away with ticks and tocks. Her body scarred with purple and blueThe blood running down her cheekShe could try and sueBut she’s only worth 50 sheep! If people only knewWhat she could provideAll the things that she could doHer words could make you wise. Her stories could fill a thousand books,Her knowledge, the entire world. But ragged and shabby are her looks,Dirty dress and hair that’s curled. If only she hadn’t done it!If only someone said no!If only someone was watching,Then she wouldn’t have had to go!Help her in her fateAnd millions of woman more,To strive once againAs the rooster gives its call.Stand up for the rights of this girlAnd help keep her safe.Because she, like many othersIs a victim, of rape.
