performance poetry
Performance Poetry is poetry out loud; poems brought from the page to the stage.
Lost
Lost within and without, everyday living in doubt. In this pain, we scream and shout, even pray for you to stay yet there your body lays. Question my every move canât help but feel the guilt, the pain now runs deep in my veins. Happiness keeps getting drained away due to all these damn deaths. Still feels as if you are here, on the other end of the phone telling me about your next big plain or you blasting the song Iâm the man. Since you were taken way too soon I feel more and more insane, I just canât understand any reason for the good to die young with a whole life ahead of them. All while assholes and jerks seem to live forever, this shit just fuels my anger.

Dermatillomania
Quick note before starting this poem: I have suffered with this condition since I was little. There was never a point in time that I can think of, where I didn't have an open cut on my body from scratching, or from peeling open a scab. I even used to scratch while I slept; my mom would have to put socks on my hands to stop me from scratching myself raw. I wrote this poem as a sort of awareness piece a while back, but I think that it fits perfectly with the theme for this month!
