Mid-Twenties Crisis
At this age, most people say, they were married, had babies, and had moved far away. Far from home, away from Moms and Dads, independent, yet oh so alone. They had cars, jobs, and houses of their own. These days, we are lucky to afford just a cell phone. My parents tell me tales of their youth, they show me pictures and papers, all of their proof. Times were different back then, before technology boomed, prices had zoomed, and no one asked “remember when?” My time as an adult has been short, but it has not been easy, every day a different struggle of some sort. How can I afford this, how can I survive on my own, so many payments I can’t afford to miss. Without money you can’t have a Degree, but with one you cannot be debt free. It’s a different world today, harder to live in it in so many ways. I try to have hope, and look at the future as bright, but the more that I wait, it fills me with fright. I just long to be happy, to have a good life, to find a good Man, who will make me his Wife. Maybe together, we can survive, if we both work hard, we can stay alive. We may not be like my parents, with two kids when they were young, but we can enjoy our youth and have fun. If we both work together, we can one day have cars and a home, it will just take more time for us to own. I will try to soldier on, and wait for my prime, and will try to live my life from now, like my Parents did in their time.

Feminism
What are women without their voice? We are nothing, really. Just something to make supper and take up space. We, as women, need to stand up for ourselves and truly try to make a difference in this world. This poem explores the expectations of a woman from a man, her "superior." Here, we learn that a woman's voice is not baggage, but the essence of herself.
