How-tos for all things poetry; learn how to analyze a poem, construct a haiko, differentiate between a metaphor and simile and more.
Sue for Peace
Note: this came out of my own frustrations with the situation in the Middle East and a student's inquiry into my thoughts and feelings about it. I know that all I have is a page and my imagination to launch a pretty weak arrow at a beast that will not go away, but I have to say something...and I have.

Love
Once upon a time in a quaint, picturesque town, there lived a man named Daniel. He was known throughout the town for his intelligence, charm, and kind heart. However, there was one woman who seemed to be the most challenging puzzle he had ever encountered, and her name was Isabella.Isabella was a mysterious woman, with eyes as deep and enigmatic as the ocean. She had a fiery spirit that captivated everyone who crossed her path, but she remained an enigma to all. Daniel had known her since childhood, as they had grown up in the same neighborhood. As they matured, Daniel's admiration for her grew into a deep and profound love. But loving Isabella was like trying to catch a wild, untamed bird. She was independent, fiercely protective of her heart, and had dreams and ambitions that seemed to take precedence over romantic pursuits. She was not one to be easily won over by charming words or grand gestures.Daniel decided to take on the challenge, believing that his love for Isabella was worth every effort. He began by quietly supporting her dreams and ambitions, showing up at her art exhibitions, and offering a listening ear whenever she needed to vent about her frustrations. He knew that he had to be patient and demonstrate his unwavering support.Years passed, and their friendship deepened. Isabella began to see in Daniel a partner who shared her passions and values. She realized that his love for her was not just a fleeting infatuation but a genuine and enduring commitment. They started spending more time together, exploring the world through their shared interests. One day, under a sky filled with a million stars, Daniel finally found the courage to tell Isabella how he felt. He confessed his love, acknowledging that it had been a challenging journey, but one he was willing to embark on for a lifetime.Isabella, with tears in her eyes, realized that love wasn't supposed to be easy. It was meant to be a challenge, a journey of self-discovery and growth. She took his hand, and from that moment on, they faced life's challenges together, as a team.Their love story taught the town a valuable lesson - that sometimes, the most rewarding love is the one that requires effort, patience, and understanding. Loving a woman like Isabella was indeed a challenge, but it was a challenge that Daniel embraced with all his heart, and in the end, it led to a love that was deep, authentic, and enduring.
