Symphony of the Senses

Where Perception Paints the World and Stories Unfold

By Jason “Jay” BenskinPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

In the realm of senses, where worlds collide,

A kaleidoscope of perceptions reside.

Through sight and sound, touch, taste, and smell,

We weave our stories, where senses dwell.

--

In the eyes’ embrace, colors dance and play,

Painting landscapes in the light of day.

Each hue a melody, each shade a rhyme,

A canvas alive with the passage of time.

--

Ears attuned to whispers of the breeze,

Orchestra of nature, rustling through trees.

From the symphony of silence to the roar of the sea,

The melody of existence sets our spirits free.

--

With fingertips tracing patterns unseen,

We navigate the textures, rough and serene.

From velvet petals to rough-hewn stone,

Touch connects us to the world we’ve known.

--

Taste buds awaken to flavors rich and rare,

A culinary journey beyond compare.

Sweetness, bitterness, a savory delight,

Each bite a story in the banquet of night.

--

And in the fragrant embrace of scents untold,

Memories awaken, stories unfold.

From the perfume of flowers to the earth after rain,

Each scent a chapter in life’s grand refrain.

--

So let us revel in this sensory parade,

Where each perception is a serenade.

For in the dance of senses, we find our way,

And in their symphony, we forever sway.

This is a really great poem about using one's senses to see and hear what is all around them.
