i just want to hug you one more time

before we break this thing apart

i want you to hold you like i used to

i want to feel your racing heart

you could even pretend to love me

if only for a few seconds more

no games no shame

and no keeping score

i want to melt into your arms

as you hold me one last time

i always found warm comfort there

in your embrace all was fine

now there's no you no us and no me

and this i did not see

and now i stand here unravelling

the you in the us

was the best part of me

i wouldn’t be here now without you

i will savour what we once had

i don't know what else to do now

i feel mad and sad and bad

so pretend for moment

and for a minute step back in time

give me one last hug to cherish

like you used to when you were mine

sad poetry

I saw a guy wearing a shirt on a cruise several years ago and it said, " not everyone is meant to finish your journey with you. We have to learn to let folks off at their stop." We choose mates for different reasons but at the end of the day, what is meant to be will be. Putting pain to pen on paper is healing, as hard as it is in real life. ❤️🌸✨🙂

This hurts from the inside out mate. Time to take a trip... clear your head. Come to Florida and I'll introduce you to the world's biggest mouse. My couch is available. 🫡

Soft and aching. This feels like a final embrace captured in verse. Tender, honest, and quietly devastating
